Description
Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse in Dallas, Texas. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 24-bed unit, focusing on post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients, as well as those in cardiac monitoring. The position requires caring and team-oriented professionals proficient in cardiac drips and bedside procedures, with a strong emphasis on patient communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 07/14/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications, 0 years of experience required, located in Dallas, Texas
- Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication skills between patients and the interdisciplinary team, 6 months of PCU experience
- Unit Information: Located in a healthcare facility with 24 beds and a staff of 43, including 1 charge nurse and 8 RNs per shift. The unit utilizes Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom, and telemetry with Meditech EMR.
- Typical Procedures: Post CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repairs, LVAD, post VATS chest tube management, vascular surgeries, pre/post cath lab and electrophysiology procedures, bedside procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertions.
- Additional Information: Candidates without the required skills will not be considered. The position involves floating between Med-Surg/telemetry and Orthopedic areas as needed. The dress code is royal blue scrubs, and weekend/on-call shifts are required.
