Description
Job Summary:
Long Term Care (LTC) registered nurse (RN) position available in Glendale, California. The role involves providing patient care within a skilled nursing unit as part of an acute hospital setting, supporting residents with pulmonary diagnoses requiring oxygen, Alzheimer's, and dementia. The position requires committed RNs to deliver a range of clinical services to meet patient needs.
Job Details:
- Shift and Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements.
- Required Qualifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association; minimum of 2 years of experience in a long-term care or subacute setting; California nursing license; location in California; and experience supporting pulmonary diagnoses and dementia patient care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with subacute or skilled nursing facility environments is preferred.
- Additional Information: The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1, and supports stable ventilators and trach care. RT support (oxygen therapy/equipment such as Cpap, Bipap, and High-Flow) is available on-site 24/7. The facility employs Cerner electronic charting system. RN staff are responsible for medication administration, wound care, trach care, and IV care. Orientation specific to the unit is provided. The dress code requires Navy Blue scrubs for RNs and LPNs, and Forest Green for CNAs. The organization allows cancellation of shifts up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
