Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician in San Pedro, California. This position involves the decontamination, sterilization, and processing of surgical instruments and medical equipment within an acute care hospital environment. The role requires working Saturday through Wednesday with a schedule of 8-hour shifts, and the candidate must be available to work rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as part of the team.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS and IAHCSMM, valid California state license, minimum 2 years of experience in sterile processing or related field, experience with surgical instrument sterilization, decontamination, and sterilization protocols.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotic surgical equipment, DaVinci sterilization technology, and advanced sterilization equipment such as V-Pro Max and ultrasonic washers.
• Additional Information:
  • Must be able to float between sterile processing units as required.
  • Must include response to whether the candidate has previously worked at a Providence facility, along with location and dates.
  • LA fire card within the last 30 days is required.
  • References required: two within the last three years, covering one year of employment.
  • Travelers are expected to float between healthcare facilities within the state. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
  • If applicable, communication devices will be supplied by the facility at no cost, or reimbursements apply for mobile phone use if not provided.
  • Modules are non-billable, averaging 16 hours, and must be completed pre-start and annually.
