Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in obstetrics at an acute care facility in Medford, Oregon. This position involves caring for high-risk labor and antepartum patients, including those with epidurals, insulin drips, IV magnesium, and preterm labor. The role may also include circulating in the operating room and assisting with deliveries. Staff will float to other women's and children's health units such as NICU, pediatrics, and postpartum, with assignments tailored to lower acuity patients.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of labor and delivery experience; BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk obstetrics, familiarity with EPIC charting system, and proficiency in handling postpartum and NICU patients.
  • Additional Information: Travelers will attend 2 days of nursing orientation, 2 days of Epic electronic health record training, plus 1 week of specific unit orientation as needed depending on experience. Orientation includes additional site-specific training for FNB, Peds, and NICU units. The unit follows AWHONN standards for patient assignments and maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio consistent with safety standards. The client does not accept local candidates and has a 50-mile radius restriction. Call is required, and OB hospitalist services are available 24/7, with scheduled break and resource nurses on duty.
