Description

Job Summary:

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Bangor, Maine. This role involves providing specialized care for patients across a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, including neuro, trauma, cardiac, and respiratory cases. The position offers an opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma Center with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; experience with trauma and stroke patients; experience with neuro checks, ICU procedures, and cardiac drips; at least 1 year of experience in a similar setting; no previous travel experience required
  • Preferred Qualifications: AACCN and CCRN certifications are preferred
  • Additional Information: Candidate must have experience with Neuro/Trauma patients, including neuro checks and stroke care; familiarity with medical/surgical procedures such as wound Vacs, chest tubes, and vent management; ability to support a multidisciplinary team including CNA, Phlebotomy, RT, and hospitalist staff; proficiency with Cerner charting system and Alaris IV pumps preferred; support skills required include phlebotomy, resource nurse, ICU-trained RT, hospitalist, and trauma monitor support. Orientation includes hospital general orientation followed by one day on the unit.
