Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Des Moines, Iowa. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in a busy Labor and Delivery department with a focus on antepartum, postpartum, and mother-baby care. The role requires flexibility to float across multiple campuses and to work during scheduled nights on a 12-hour shift schedule. The position begins on 08/03/2026.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour shift schedule.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Iowa nursing license or multistate license, active BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications, and AWHONN certification. Recent/current Labor and Delivery experience, including antepartum, C-section, and vaginal delivery procedures, is required. Must have Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) / AWHONN certification. At least one prior travel assignment completed within the last 12 months is required for current or recent travel experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in high-risk obstetrics at a Level I or Level II trauma facility, current or recent high-risk OB experience, and experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
• Additional Information:
  • This role involves floating across all campuses within the organization.
  • Submission requires recent employment references and valid driver's license.
  • Holiday work may be required, particularly during Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day unless the unit is closed.
  • Orientation sessions are scheduled for 08/03 and 08/17.
  • Travel experience preferred; no first-time travelers accepted.
