Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Castro Valley, California. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to surgical patients, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative responsibilities. The role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure high standards of patient safety and care.
Job Details:
- Location: Castro Valley, California
- Schedule: Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), CNOR (Operating Room Nurse Certification), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). A minimum of 2 years of travel nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in the operating room and experience with charting systems such as Epic.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS (valid and uploaded with expiration dates).
- Experience: At least 2 years of nursing experience, including OR-specific procedures such as laparoscopic, cardiovascular, neurological, and general surgeries.
- Special Procedures/Skills: experience with various surgical procedures including cardiac, neuro, vascular, orthopedic, and gynecological surgeries, along with skills in sterile technique, blood product administration, and emergency response.
- Additional Information: The role involves scrubbing or circulating surgical cases, maintaining AORN standards of professional nursing practice, and managing emergency or crisis situations. Candidate must be able to work with bodily fluids and substances, handle unpredictable situations, and have the ability to make fine discriminations in sound.
- Onboarding & Compliance: Labs to be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing. Candidates must provide a 7-year work history verification and two references from within the last year. All compliance documents are due 10 days prior to the start date.
