Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular at a facility located in San Luis Obispo, California. The role involves providing advanced nursing care within the critical care setting, supervising ancillary personnel, and coordinating patient-centered treatment plans. The position requires expertise in managing patients with complex multisystem conditions, including ventilatory support and neurological monitoring.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN license in state of practice; high school education or GED; associate degree or higher; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC, required within 1 year of hire). Prior critical care experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; six months or more of critical care experience; TNCC certification before start date if not already obtained.
  • Essential Functions: Administers nursing interventions in both stable and emergent situations; monitors ECG rhythms and manages critical emergencies; manages invasive monitoring devices including ICP, ventriculostomy, Pulmonary Artery, and Arterial Pressure Catheters; provides ventilatory support and patient/family education; documents care accurately and timely; performs safety and quality checks; collaborates with healthcare team to develop and execute care plans.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be willing to adhere to organizational vaccination policies and participate in safety protocols.
