Job Summary
Lactation Specialist position in La Jolla, California. This role involves providing lactation support and education to patients across neonatal, adolescent, and adult age groups. The position requires flexibility with floating between hospital units and affiliate facilities based on census needs, with a focus on high-risk and couplet care patient populations.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California state license (must have active license upon submission), certification in BLS (Basic Life Support), IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) qualification, Bachelor's degree, and 2 years of experience in lactation support or related healthcare roles
- Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in Spanish
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
- Unit Details: Staffing for high-risk, PPU, and couplet care patient populations; not a designated newborn nursery at this facility
- Additional Information: Candidates will need to complete non-billable modules during orientation and annually, with up to 8 hours of modules included in the total shift hours. Must have an active California license and submit two manager references. Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
