Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position in Carmichael, California. This role involves providing critical care to neurological patients in a state-of-the-art neuro ICU. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a focus on stroke and neurological surgical patients, requiring specialized skills and certifications.

Job Details:

• Position: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse
• Location: Carmichael, CA
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, with every other weekend work. Schedule is shared four weeks in advance and accessible remotely for shift trades and availability updates.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, at least 2 years of ICU experience, current CPR certification, and current ACLS certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neuro ICU, familiarity with Cerner Electronic Medical Record system, ability to interpret EKG strips, and experience with neuro-specific diagnoses such as CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, or ventriculostomies.
• Additional Information: The unit is part of a strong stroke and neuro center. Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor. First to float to sister facilities; mid-shift float rare. Surgical and interventional neurology procedures are common.
• Shift Notes: 12-hour night shifts. Every other weekend required. The role involves working with hospitalists or intensivists in-house, ventilator management, and continuous patient monitoring.
