Description

Job Summary:
Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse position located in Evansville, Indiana. This role involves providing patient care on a cardiac and renal unit within a healthcare facility. The position is day shift, offering a dynamic environment for experienced nurses skilled in cardiac telemetry and critical care procedures.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour days, shift time from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Minimum of 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience, including trauma level II assignments, recent EPIC charting experience (will require a checkoff class), and at least one previous travel assignment
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience interpreting 12-lead EKGs and passing tele test requirements, ability to initiate and titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino acids, etc.), proficiency in PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, patient assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Additional Information: This role involves caring for a high acuity Telemetry/M/S patient population with cardiac-heavy cases including atrial fibrillation (with RVR), flutter, blocks, and heart cath procedures without interventions. The unit has 41 beds, with staffing ratios of 1:4-5 during days. Unit managers have over 15 years of experience, fostering a strong team environment. No Covid-19 vaccination is required at this time, and there may be precepting responsibilities for students and new hires.
