Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) in Bethpage, NY. This position involves supporting a busy off-site reprocessing center that provides sterile processing services for multiple healthcare facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers. The role requires rotating through all areas of sterilization, adhering to department protocols, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Job Details:

• Shift: Evenings, from 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M., with a schedule of 7.5 hours per day and a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in sterile processing (CRCST or CSPD, must not expire during the assignment), High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year of certified experience with 4 years of sterile processing technician experience in a tertiary setting, ability to stand for long periods, lift/carry 25 pounds, and communicate effectively in English.
• Additional Information: The role involves disassembling, cleaning, sterilizing, reassembling, and packaging sterile supplies, operating sterilization and washer equipment, adhering to instrument count sheets, and maintaining a contaminant-free work environment. Personal protective equipment, including scrubs, must be worn, with no nail polish allowed. Free parking is available on site.
