Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position in Great Falls, Montana. This role involves providing direct patient care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on a medical/surgical unit that do not require transfer to the intensive care unit. The nurse will operate advanced medical equipment, support patients with various medical conditions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and smooth discharge planning.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current Montana registered nurse licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire. Prior experience in progressive care, post heart catheterization, or vascular surgery patients preferred.
• Use of basic office equipment, multiple IV pumps, advanced medical equipment including arterial lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support devices. Knowledge of cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation.
• Ability to manage IV medications such as Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex, Amiodarone, and Dopamine.
• Additional Information: The role requires skillful assessment and intervention for patients with complex needs, including those with central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, and patients on long-term ventilation support. The nurse will function as a clinical leader, precepting staff and providing discharge planning support.
