Description

Job Summary:
Neuroscience Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical Neurology is needed for a 37-bed neuro-acute unit within a highly regarded organization. This role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, infections, tumors, and neuro trauma. The position offers an opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to patient-centered excellence, safety, shared governance, and nursing autonomy.

Job Details:

Location: Springfield, MA
Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Start Date: 08/03/2026
Shift Details: 7 a.m.-7:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
Float Requirements: Support hospital needs to lesser or like acuity areas as needed to support hospital needs to lesser or like acuity areas
Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Every other Holiday, totaling 8 shifts within a 6-week schedule period (including essential weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
Unit Description: D5A Neurosciences is a 37-bed neuro-acute department within a Magnet-designated organization, providing care for neurological and neurosurgical conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, spinal cord injury, infections, tumors, and neuro trauma.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
- 2+ years of neuroscience experience preferred
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- NIHSS certification required annually
- Five stroke-based Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required annually
