Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse specializing in Open Heart procedures, located in Prescott, Arizona. This role involves working in a surgical unit that handles total joints, general surgeries, spine, urology, and cardiovascular procedures for the open heart team. The position offers a dynamic environment with a focus on procedural excellence and patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours shifts from 0600 to 1430, with minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Licensure to submit not required; ACLS and BLS Certifications; minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in operating room settings, with at least 1 year in open heart or cardiovascular surgeries.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience scrubbing in cardiovascular procedures, familiarity with Cerner charting system.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: A minimum of 2 years of full-time OR experience, including scrubbing in diverse surgical cases such as total joints, spine, urology, and cardiovascular procedures, with skills required for work in OR and CVOR.
- Shift & Scheduling: Shifts are 8 hours, with potential call requirements of 4-5 weeknights for general OR and up to 10 weeknights for CVOR every 6 weeks.
- Weeknight/Call Requirement: Up to 50%, with call divided equally among staff in the same role.
- Weekend/Call Requirement: Up to 12-hour shifts on five weekends for the general OR and two weekends for CVOR per 6-week cycle.
- Holiday/Call Requirement: 2-3 additional 12-hour shifts per year.
- Mandatory Call/Standby: Call responsibilities are shared equally; travelers will assume call after 1-2 weeks on assignment.
- Call Response Time: Respond within 30 minutes.
- Floating Requirements: May assist in other departments such as delivering food trays or sitting with patients; unlikely to float to procedural areas like Preoperative or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs.
- Unit/Department Orientation: 3-5 shifts depending on case load and exposure.
- Charting System: Cerner.
- Trauma Level: Not specified.
