Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Surgical Technician operating in the Cardiac Visual Operative Room (CVOR) specialty at a healthcare facility located in Saint Petersburg, Florida. This role involves supporting pediatric cardiovascular procedures with a focus on congenital and open-heart surgeries. The ideal candidate will have relevant pediatric CVOR experience and be prepared for a 13-week assignment working primarily during daytime hours.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The assignment begins on 08/03/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Cardiac Visual Operative Room (CVOR) Pediatric experience, epic experience, and national certification (NBSTA). Must have BLS certification. Experience with pediatric CVOR procedures such as congenital open hearts, ASD/VSD, Norwood/Glenn/Fontan, and other complex cardiac surgeries.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous employment within Johns Hopkins healthcare system in any capacity (staff, PRN, travel), with a requirement to be gone for at least one full year if previously employed by any Johns Hopkins facilities.
- Additional Information: The role entails holiday work with one major holiday required per schedule, as well as on-call responsibilities with a response time of 30 minutes for cardiac call. Candidates should be prepared for occasional floating to areas of similar skill set, including thoracic procedures. The hospital performs advanced pediatric CVOR procedures such as ECMO, heart transplants, and arterial switch operations.
