Description

Job Summary:
Telemetry Nurse in North Charleston, South Carolina. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to telemetry patients, including those post-cardiac procedures such as PCI, PPM, ICD, or Ablations. The role requires proficient telemetry interpretation, patient education, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes during night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications, NIH Stroke Scale certification required; 30 months RN or LPN nursing experience; ability to care for 6 telemetry patients, including post-cardiac procedures; proficient in reading telemetry strips; experience with discharge planning and patient education; previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; travelers are the first to float and could work in the emergency department, telemetry monitoring room, or PCU.
  • Additional Information: The unit utilizes mobile equipment such as i-mobile phones, workstation on wheels, mobilab for lab drawers, and Alaris IV pumps. Documentation is maintained through Meditech. The hospital emphasizes patient safety with bedside shift reports, RN/MD rounding, and the AIDET communication approach. Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIH stroke scale is mandatory. The dress code is the Navy uniform.
