Description
Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Open Heart Nurse in Aurora, Colorado. This position involves providing specialized critical care to pediatric patients requiring open heart procedures within a Level Three-CICU environment. The role offers a 13-week assignment with rotating day and night shifts, supporting a busy pediatric cardiac intensive care unit.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) or ADN with 6 years of experience; Colorado RN license or multi-state compact license; PALS, ACLS, BLS certifications; minimum of 2-3 years Staff RN experience in dedicated pediatric cardiovascular intensive care, pediatric CICU, or open heart unit; previous travel nursing experience.
- Required Certifications: PALS Heartcode, ACLS Heartcode (no Heartcode complete), BLS.
- Preferred Qualifications: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification and VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) experience; teaching hospital experience is strongly preferred.
- Travel: Yes, travel is required for this assignment.
- Float: Client reserves the right to float or reassign personnel to other areas within their clinical competence, within a 35-mile radius of the assigned facility.
- Additional Information: No request for time off within the first two weeks of assignment is permitted. Medical and religious exemption requests from seasonal influenza vaccination are allowed.
