Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse in Lynchburg, Virginia. This position involves providing specialized care for a diverse patient population, including med-surg, tele, cardiac IMCU acuity level patients, neuro patients, and CVA patients. The role requires active VA or Compact license and prior charge experience, with orientation occurring every other week on Mondays.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active VA or Compact license upon start date. No minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience and familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Orientation days are every other Monday.
  • Assignments typically end on Saturday.
  • The unit attempts to follow a two-thirds weekend schedule but may vary based on unit needs.
  • Limited RTO (Request for Time Off) is available; client can cancel up to 36 hours before an assignment due to census fluctuations.
  • Candidate must submit work history with a minimum of 2 years experience, explain all work gaps over 90 days, provide skills checklist, Nursys/license copy, and requested time off documentation at submission.
  • Candidates with CENTRA experience preferred.
  • The hospital is a teaching facility with frequent interactions with students and new hires, requiring team members to foster a culture of support.
