Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse in Alexandria, Louisiana. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive care to post-surgical and neuro patient populations in a Medical Surgical floor setting. The role requires the ability to work independently while maintaining awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care, with a focus on supporting patient recovery and well-being.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with guarantees of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred), 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (preferred), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA (American Heart Association), RN License in the state of employment or a compact license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is a bonus.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other units as needed.
- Patient Population: Focus on postsurgical patients, including orthopedics, general surgery, and neuro populations.
- Responsibilities: Assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, administer medications and treatments, provide patient education, and adhere to all applicable nursing standards and protocols.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Start Date: 08/03/2026.
- Location: 3330 Masonic Drive, Alexandria, Louisiana, 71301.
