Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse position available in Seattle, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care for high-risk neonates, including preterm and critically ill infants, within a Level III or Level IV NICU. The position offers a night shift schedule with opportunities to work three or more consecutive days, supporting a high standard of neonatal patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 3 years of experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU, with at least 2 years of experience at Level IV. Certifications include BLS and NRP.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neonatal surgical procedures, ventilator management (including CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Vents, Oscillators), and neonatal blood and blood product administration.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to assigned campuses, including first Hill, Issaquah, or Edmonds for NICU or Pediatric units.
- Additional Information:
- Responsible for attending high-risk deliveries and managing specialized neonatal equipment such as feeding tubes, PICC/Central lines, and syringe pumps.
- Works with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
- No responsibility for admitting babies, as a dedicated admit nurse manages that role.
- Shift readiness includes a 24-hour orientation period.
- Proper references covering at least 1 year are required during the compliance process.
