Job Summary:
This position is for an Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular registered nurse in a facility located in Largo, Maryland. The role involves providing immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, such as those recovering from CABG, valve, and other cardiac procedures. The nurse will deliver specialized care within a team-focused environment, supporting patients through critical recovery processes.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days, schedule from 0700 to 1930, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Maryland RN license, ACLS, BLS certification; 0 years of experience required, but candidates with at least 2+ years of CVICU or open heart experience are preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with arterial line management, chest tube procedures, ventilator management, and patient care post-cardiac surgery is advantageous
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Patient Care: Management of post-cardiac surgery patients, including ventilator support, invasive line care, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Special Procedures/Equipment: Use of FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, Impella devices, IABP, ECMO, and VATS procedures; immediate post-op care with 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for first 12 hours
• Schedule: Self-directed scheduling; may include floating to sister units or lower acuity units as necessary
• Additional Information: The role requires floating within the scope of the specialty, including sister units and lower acuity areas, as scheduled; holidays and every other weekend shifts are required; consent to COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but flu vaccination is mandatory without exemptions
