Description

Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in Presque Isle, Maine. This assignment is for an immediate start and involves working night shifts in a busy, general Emergency Department. The role requires providing patient care to diverse patient populations, including neonates to geriatrics, with varying acuity levels.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); minimum of 2 years of ER experience; valid license in the state of Maine; acceptable to first-time travelers
  • Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Patient Types: Neonates to Geriatrics, including Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, Behavioral Health cases, among others
  • Patient Ratios: RN 1:4, Technician 1:11 (variable based on patient acuity)
  • Support on the Unit: Respiratory Therapist available on dayshift and for unstable patients; Mid-level provider (hours vary); Hospitalist and House Supervisor available 24/7; Receptionist available 24/7; Critical Care Transport team assists in the ED; ED Technicians scheduled in multiple shifts; Security on-site 24/7; Staff from all six units respond to escalations if needed
  • Charting System: FirstNet
  • Orientation: Two days of hospital and unit orientation, including time within the ED; one day of preceptor shadowing
  • Additional Information: No float rotation; scrubs are acceptable in any color, hospital scrubs available; onsite locker/changing room and gym provided; free parking available; the unit fosters a welcoming community environment.
