Description
Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse position is located in Albany, New York. This role involves caring for medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients in a high-acuity environment. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, head injuries, multi-system organ disfunction, endocrine disorders, and surgical complications, utilizing advanced hemodynamic monitoring and protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/24/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS certification, experience managing medical and surgical patient populations, competency in advanced hemodynamics including pressor titration, familiarity with ventilator management (HFNC, BiPap/Cpap, oxypendent), and proficient in infection prevention protocols.
- Preferred Qualifications: Large scale adult PCU experience, community hospital ICU background, experience with complex patient care, ability to perform competency tests within 24 hours of submission.
- Additional Information: The unit cares for high-acuity patients with average load of three critically ill patients. Competency testing will be administered within 24 hours via email. The role may require floating to other units depending on staffing needs.
