Job Summary:

The organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Medical-Surgical with Telemetry for a facility located in Milledgeville, Georgia. This role involves providing direct patient care on a 24-bed unit with a Level 3 trauma designation. The RN will work night shifts, offering critical assessment, medication administration, wound care, telemetry interpretation, and patient education within a busy, team-oriented environment.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Georgia RN license, BLS certification, at least 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience, active license, and BLS required. ACLS preferred but not required; certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing preferred but not mandatory.
• Patient Population: Adults with acute or chronic diseases, post-op surgery patients, common co-morbidities include diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolytes imbalances.
• Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6, LPN: 1:4-6, CNA: 2-3 per shift
• Skills: Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucose monitoring, insulin and heparin drips, cardiac telemetry, wound care, post-op monitoring, care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education.
• Support within Department: CNA roles involve vital signs, glucose checks, baths, feeding, ambulating, and patient transport.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR using EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, monitors, vital sign monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, IV pumps, portable oxygen, glucommander, PCA pain management systems, suction machine, rapid turnover protocols.
• Orientation: 1 day of facility overview and 2 days departmental orientation.
• Scheduling: On a 6-week cycle, with 5-6 weekend shifts, no on-call responsibilities, and work during major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, with manager approval for RTO).
• Additional Notes: Scrub color navy for RN, free parking, busy but cohesive unit with a team-oriented culture.
