The role involves assisting in surgeries within a specialized unit focused on neurological, orthopedic, and vascular procedures, with responsibilities including preparation of operating rooms and support for surgical teams.
Job Details
- Job Title: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician
- Location: 2010 Brookwood Medical Center Dr., Birmingham, AL 35209
- Specialty: ORT Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shift, with late call and on-call duties
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, starting 07/20/2026
- Certificates/Experience: BLS certification and at least 2 years of experience in neuro/spine, orthopedic, or vascular surgery; experience with Globus, Mazor robotics for spine procedures, Mako for joints, craniotomy, and endovascular procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Vascular, Da Vinci surgical system, Maxillofacial procedures.
- Unit Information: 24-bed surgical unit performing complex procedures with patient ratios of 1:1.
- Personnel Fit and Dress Code: No specified personality fit; scrubs in ceil blue or royal blue; no fleece, hoods, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or nail polish.
- Additional Information: The role requires working within a neurosurgery, orthopedic, and vascular environment, supporting advanced surgical procedures and technology.
