Description

Job Summary:
A Nurse specializing in Step Down Unit located in Castro Valley, California. This position involves providing high-quality care to neuro and other related diagnosis patients in a 30-bed unit. The role requires managing patient care in a fast-paced neuro stepdown environment, focusing on patient stabilization and recovery.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, 2 years minimum experience in Step Down or Telemetry units, experience with a combination of neuro and telemetry patients, proficiency with electronic charting systems such as Epic
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma levels I and II, community hospital settings, LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) experience, travel experience in acute care RN roles on similar units
  • Additional Information:
    • Patient ratio of 3:1 for neuro stepdown, 4:1 for telemetry
    • 30-bed neuro unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and radiology
    • Critical skills include managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central Line Care, Chest Tube Management, Neuro assessments, and wound care
    • Requirement of current Nursys verification of CA RN license and applicable certifications uploaded within the last 2 weeks
    • Onboarding labs to be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing, and all compliance documentation due 10 days prior to start date
