Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Telemetry registered nurse in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing patient care in a 27-bed unit focused on medical-surgical and telemetry services. The RN will manage complex patients, including those with oncology/hematology, general medical issues, and other critical conditions, with a focus on acute care responsibilities.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts working every other weekend, with a minimum of 48 hours per week; shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with flexibility for additional hours or variable schedules.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN; current BLS (American Heart Association) certification; minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience with complex patients; experience with titratable drips including insulin, heparin, cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, and blood transfusions. Candidates must have worked with Cerner charting system; local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: prior travel experience; comfort with tele monitoring and reading rhythm strips; experience managing complex medical-surgical patients with telemetry needs.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other med-surg units in 4-hour increments.
• Additional Information: Orientation includes one day of computer and regulatory training plus a 12-hour shift on the floor. Charge nurses and house supervisors are present on all shifts and may have patient assignments; travelers may be asked to step into charge roles if comfortable. Nurse aides are available with ratios of 1:7-9 during day/evening shifts and up to 1:14 overnight. The unit uses centralized tele techs for rhythm interpretation; nurses are expected to be telemetry aware.
