Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients on a medical surgical oncology floor within the healthcare organization. The role supports patient recovery and comfort, emphasizing safety and effective clinical practice during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; Minimum 1 year of experience in medical surgical nursing; Wyoming nursing license or eligibility to practice in Wyoming.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with oncology, including patient management of neutropenic fevers, blood transfusions, and other medical-surgical emergencies. Ability to read telemetry strips, titrate drips such as Heparin and Fentanyl, and manage high-flow oxygen equipment.
- Float: Float to inpatient units including tele, surgical, ortho, neuro, medical units, etc.
- Additional Information: Orientation consists of 3 shifts with a preceptor; self-scheduling is permitted via Kronos; flexibility with weekend work is preferred; night shift coverage for the holiday season is especially needed. On-call system in place, with lower pay for on-call hours.
- Certifications and Education: BLS certification; RQI training (done during orientation).
- Shift & Scheduling: Shifts start at 6:45 AM and 6:45 PM. Candidates should be flexible to work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday night shifts and possibly weekend shifts (Friday and Saturday nights).
- Licensing: Candidates must hold an active license to submit.
- Start Date: 08/10/2026.
