Description

Job Summary:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specialization position is located in Nampa, Idaho. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a Level II NICU with 8 private suites, caring for infants 32 weeks and greater with common diagnoses including respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, NAS opioid withdrawal, and feeders and growers. The role requires attending deliveries, stabilizing newborns, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Stable certification. Candidates must have at least 2 years of NICU experience. The role requires valid licensure to submit and a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: A background in mother-baby care or NICU nurse care for both NICU babies and mothers is preferred. Ability to attend and stabilize newborns during deliveries, including scheduled, urgent, and emergent cesarean sections, is necessary.
  • Float: Float to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley sites including Meridian, Nampa, and Boise in the NICU or as a sitter.
  • Additional Information:
    Travelers are expected to extend and return for future assignments. The unit has a no fingernail lacquer policy, disallowing acrylic or gel nails. Travel duos will require two vehicles, as they may work at different sites or float during shifts. The facility enforces a radius rule of 50 miles, and candidates current addresses will be verified to ensure compliance. Shifts include coverage on weekends and holidays based on unit needs, with no minimum holiday requirement. There is no call requirement. Orientation consists of 3 days in the unit, with compliance and EPIC Curio assignments completed before start.
