Description
Job Summary:
Endoscopy Laboratory Technologist position in Seattle, Washington. This role involves supporting a busy GI lab with a focus on ERCP procedures, requiring hands-on technical expertise and the ability to efficiently manage patient admit/discharge processes. The role is suitable for candidates with foundational endoscopy skills and strong procedural experience.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts with start times at 0600, 0630, or 0700, for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Shifts are staggered across the week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Washington State license; Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum of 2 years of Endoscopy Laboratory experience; prior Epic electronic health record (EHR) system experience; strong hands-on skills in colonoscopy, biopsy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), gastrointestinal (GI) bleed management, and ERCP. Experience in admitting and discharging patients, and in managing Phase II recovery from propofol sedation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IV procedures and dilation techniques.
- Additional Information: The environment requires adherence to department-specific protocols, with orientation tailored based on the traveler's comfort level. The unit maintains a 15-18 patient daily workload, supported by a team including an Admit RN, Recovery RN, and Procedure RN. The role does not involve tech or nurse aide assistance or specialized equipment like ventilators or BiPAP. On-site charge nurse or house supervisor is available for support.
- Notes: The position begins on 08/17/2026, with minimal call and no mandatory call/standby requirement. The facility may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
