Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized care for neuro, trauma, and general patients in an acute care setting. The RN will work 12-hour day shifts, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday rotations, supporting a dynamic and diverse patient population.

Job Details:

• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical (MS), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with experience in setting within the last year. Trach and ventilator experience highly preferred, with openness to training on vents and first-time travelers welcome.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts available are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with self-scheduling managed six weeks in advance.
• Patient Care Responsibilities: Management of neuro-focused diagnoses such as strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barre syndrome, spinal injuries, and neuro specialty procedures like endovascular interventions. Care for trauma injuries, hematomas, bleeds, and patients on various drips including Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Insulin, and more.
• Patient Ratios: Day shift 1:4-5, night shift 1:5-6, depending on acuity.
• Equipment and Monitors: Ventilators, Trachs, Cpap, Bipap, Vapotherm, EtCO2 monitors; centralized monitor in a different area.
• Other Unit Details: Float to sister Medical Surgical units; nurse aides available; scrubs of any solid color acceptable; unit-specific orientation includes one general shift and one preceptor shift.
• Additional Requirements: Must clock in/out at the facility, and previously worked clinicians with Marshfield must have their end date at least 6 months prior to submission. No call required; floating opportunities available.
