Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse specializing in Step Down care in New York provides expert nursing care to patients transitioning from critical care to standard medical-surgical units. This role involves delivering safe, evidence-based, and compassionate patient-centered care in a dynamic hospital environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with every other weekend; may float to medical-surgical units.
- Required Qualifications: NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or active matriculation in a BSN program with relevant experience; at least 2 years of RN experience; 1 year of travel experience for travel positions (not required for Per Diem positions); EPIC experience highly preferred.
- Specialty: Step Down Unit.
- Schedule: Nights, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Experience in step down care, tracheostomy management, and ventilator weaning is highly preferred. The role emphasizes clinical competence, adherence to safety protocols, and active participation in quality improvement initiatives.
