Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) at a healthcare facility located in Norfolk, VA. This position involves providing specialized care in a Level IV, 70-bed NICU unit. The nurse will administer care to critically ill neonates with various diagnoses and procedures, adhering to unit protocols and maintaining a high standard of patient safety and comfort.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights (12:00 AM to 12:00 PM), every other weekend, holidays as needed
- Schedule: 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), 3 years of experience in neonatal intensive care nursing, and current licensure as an RN in Virginia or eligible for licensure in Virginia
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with bedside surgeries such as PDA ligation, chest tubes, and Penrose drains; familiarity with Cerner computerized charting system
- Additional Information: Orientation period lasts 2-3 shifts; floating to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) may be required, with similar patient populations
