Job Summary:
Operating Room Technician in Massachusetts. This role involves assisting in a variety of surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses. The technician will support maintaining a sterile environment, prepare operating rooms, pass instruments, assist with specimen handling, and ensure the safety and privacy of patients throughout their surgical experience.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited civilian or military operating room technician or surgical technician program; NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification and maintenance; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; strong ortho experience strongly preferred.
• Assists in surgical procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile environments, passing supplies, and assisting with specimen handling.
• Supports patient transfer to and from the operating room and helps with patient positioning.
• Operates sterilization equipment and assists with operating diagnostic equipment as needed.
• Assists in applying surgical dressings and ensuring all instrumentation and supplies are available per surgeons preference cards.
• Provides orientation and training assistance to new Operating Room staff and participates in staff meetings, education, and unit activities.
• Works collaboratively with the surgical team to maintain equipment, update procedures, and provide service excellence.
• Performs other duties related to surgical support and safety, respecting patient rights and promoting teamwork.
