Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse position in Iowa City, Iowa. This role involves providing specialized care for adult patients with complex medical conditions requiring telemetry monitoring and cardiac care. The position is suitable for professionals with relevant certification and experience in trauma or cardiac units, offering an opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications; must have large level 1 or large level 2 trauma experience; two or more years of experience in a cardiac or trauma care setting; relevant education and licensure in nursing; experience in adult medical-surgical, cardiology, or critical care units is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with advanced cardiac procedures, telemetry monitoring, or post-operative cardiac care is highly desirable.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours/week starting from 08/17/2026.
- Additional Information: The assigned unit is a 47-bed medical-surgical cardiology unit providing comprehensive care for postoperative and complex cardiac patients, including those requiring telemetry, temporary pacing, and LVAD management. The facility emphasizes multidisciplinary teamwork and has received national awards for excellence.
