Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position in a small community hospital located in Stayton, Oregon. This role involves providing high-quality care to diverse critically ill patients, including those with complex diagnoses such as sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, hypoxemia, and COVID-19. The position requires adaptability and the ability to function confidently within resource-limited settings, supporting a cohesive healthcare team in delivering optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a schedule of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titratable medications such as Propofol, Levophen, Dobutamine, Precedex, Fentanyl, Insulin, Esmolol, Versed, Ketamine, or similar.
• Additional Information:
  • The ICU unit includes 4 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
  • Experience with managing titratable intravenous drips is required.
  • Support staff include RTs (Respiratory Therapists) available 24/7 for treatments and monitor techs capable of reading and interpreting tele strips.
  • The charge nurse oversees multiple units but maintains minimal patient assignments.
  • Floating to IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) or MS (Medical/Surgical) may be required; float to ED possible for those with prior emergency department experience.
  • The unit operates with a team-oriented approach, using EPIC charting system, and no BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) license submission is required.
