Description
Job Summary:
Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position in Iron Mountain, Michigan. This role involves providing specialized patient care on a 24-bed inpatient unit with a focus on telemetry monitoring and acute care. The position requires adaptability to unit-specific protocols and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including hospitalists and intensivists.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 & 1900-0700), minimum 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association); minimum 1 year of experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units; resident within 80 miles of the facility; licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with TURPS-CBI, critical access, or Trauma Level 3 or 4 settings; familiarity with IV starts as IV team is not available onsite; knowledge of basic telemetry arrhythmia interpretation.
- Float: Float rotation may be required; must be able to float to like units and patients.
- Additional Information:
- Unit notes indicate a patient ratio of 5:1 during day shift and 6:1 at 11 p.m., with team nursing with LPNs.
- The unit manages a range of diagnoses, including COPD, sepsis, post-surgical care, and small pediatric populations.
- Orientation includes computer education on day 1, followed by shadow shifts and independent practice.
- Telemetry monitors are basic, with arrhythmia knowledge required; monitors are checked daily in ICU.
- Holiday rotation includes 2 out of 3 holidays, with on-call/standby opportunities.
- Clinicians must have prior work history with the facility, with a minimum of 6 months since last engagement if previously employed.
- Candidates should be comfortable with IV starts and capable of managing their own strip readings.
- The position begins on 08/10/2026.
