Description

Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery department in Bemidji, Minnesota, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a high-acuity obstetric and neonatal setting. The role involves managing postpartum, antepartum, GYN, and neonatal patients, with a focus on safe patient care, unit support, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. This position offers a challenging environment for experienced labor and delivery nurses committed to excellence in maternal and neonatal health.

Job Details:

  • Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, including weekends; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • At least 2 years of OB (Obstetrics) / Labor and Delivery nursing experience
    • Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the AHA
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
    • MN State Registered Nurse (RN) license (temp license considered with potential for extension; pending license accepted with start date considerations)
    • Experience with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
  • Additional Information:
    • Must be able to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed
    • Will perform unit and equipment orientation on the first day
    • Care for postpartum, antepartum, newborns, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow patients
    • Potential to serve as second RN in the Special Care Nursery (SCN) with knowledge of circulating duties preferred
    • Nurse to patient ratios adhere to AWHONN standards: 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, 1:5 for GYN/Med-Surg, and approximately 1:3-4 for pediatrics
    • Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and LPNs on certain days
