Description
Job Summary:
Nursing Professional specializing in Medical Surgical Orthopedic care located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing postoperative surgical and general medical-surgical care to a diverse patient population on an acute care orthopedic unit. The position requires a minimum of two years of clinical experience and is scheduled for night shifts, with weekend rotations every other Saturday and Sunday.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; BLS certification (American Heart Association); 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical or orthopedic postoperative care; active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postoperative orthopedic care and general medical-surgical nursing
- Float: Travel RNs are first to float if needed, which may include other medical-surgical floors
- Additional Information:
- Unit features 43 private rooms with nurse:patient ratios of 1:4-5 during day shifts and 1:5-6 during night shifts
- Common patient diagnoses include medical surgical cases, postoperative orthopedic cases, and trauma cases with fractures
- Certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association)
- Shift hours are 12 per shift with a minimum of 36 hours per week scheduled
- No call or standby requirements
- Department-specific orientation duration: two days
- Charting system utilized: EPIC
- No BSN required
- Telemetry monitors are Phillips house-wide modules, RNs may need to interpret their own strips
- Dress code: Any color scrubs; professional appearance; tattoos and piercings must be covered
