Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor registered nurse (RN) position in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing care to a diverse range of postoperative orthopedic, trauma, and medical surgical patients on a 43-bed unit. The nurse will be responsible for managing patient care in a fast-paced setting, adhering to clinical protocols, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts for travel staff, with every other weekend day shift on Saturday and night shift on Friday and Saturday.
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; BLS (AHA) certification; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; required certifications include BLS; no specific degree otherwise specified.

- Common diagnoses/patient types: Wide variety of medical surgical, postoperative orthopedic cases, trauma with fractures
- Certifications: BLS (AHA)
- Experience: Preferred 1-2 years clinical experience in postoperative surgical care and general medical-surgical care
- Floating: Travel RNs are first to float if needed, occasionally to other Medical Surgical floors
- Dress Code: Any color of scrubs; adult professional appearance; tattoos and piercings must be covered
- Orientation: Two days of unit/department specific training
- Charting System: EPIC
- BSN Required: No
- Licensure: Active Illinois license or application confirmation
- Trauma Level: 1
- Care Setting: Acute
- Additional duties include troubleshooting tele/monitoring equipment such as CPAP and heated high flow, reading telemetry strips using house-wide Phillips monitors.
- No call or standby requirement.
