Job Summary
The Emergency Room Nurse is based in Marshfield, Wisconsin, within a Level 2 trauma and stroke center. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ER environment, handling a diverse patient population with conditions such as chest pain, sepsis, and head injuries. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional capable of managing multiple responsibilities across an acute care setting.

Job Details

• Schedule: Twelve-hour shifts starting at various times (05:00, 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 11:00, 12:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00), with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), with at least 2 years of emergency room experience, pediatric experience, and preferably some Cerner EMR experience. Local candidates within 80 miles are preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Level 1 or 2 trauma experience, knowledge of common drips such as Heparin, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nicardipine, norepinephrine.
• Additional Information: The ER handles approximately 140-180 patients per day, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 in the ER and 1:6 in urgent care. The department features 38 beds, five trauma bays, and is equipped with X-ray and CT imaging. Nurses are expected to perform triage, draw labs, and assist with high-acuity cases. Orientation includes a three-day training program covering computer systems and unit-specific protocols.
