Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Surgical with Telemetry Registered Nurse for a facility in Belleville, Illinois. This role involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients within a 24-bed unit, utilizing a comprehensive approach to surgical and medical patient needs, particularly those following the ERAS (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery) protocol. The position offers an opportunity to work a 12-hour day shift, with a focus on surgical patient care and telemetry monitoring.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience, current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification, Illinois state nursing license in hand or MO/compact license, and recent experience with surgical patients, neuro, ortho, and post-surgical care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neuro surgeries and proficiency in ortho total joints and fractures, telemetry, and electronic charting with EPIC.
• Open to accommodating block schedule: No
• Float: Will float within scope to other Medical Surgical with Telemetry units and facilities as needed, including Memorial Belleville and Memorial Shiloh.
• Patient Ratios: 6 patients during the day, 6 at night, and 6 on weekends.
• Additional Information:
  • The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and a unit secretary.
  • Patients are primarily adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as diabetics, COPD, renal, infectious diseases, co-morbidities, vascular conditions, surgical cases (abdominal, vascular, amputations), wounds, pneumonia, sepsis, and bowel surgeries.
  • Specializes in orthopedic surgeries including total joint replacements and neuro surgeries; proficient in orthopedic fractures.
  • The assignment does not permit additional RTO beyond 7 days unless approved by management.
  • The facility is an acute care hospital with a total of 222 staffed beds and a 31-bed unit.
  • The position requires compliance with hospital policies including flu vaccination and timely completion of modules.
  • The candidate must meet RTO policies, licensing requirements, and float within service lines as specified.
