Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care in a hospital setting. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patients' needs, while prioritizing care through assessment, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse develops and coordinates individualized plans of care for assigned patients, initiating assessments based on patient issues, medical diagnoses, and the functional health framework. The position requires providing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing patient care while advocating for evidence-based practice standards and supporting innovative care delivery aligned with professional nursing models.

Job Details:

  • Location: Hackensack, New Jersey, United States (ZIP 07601).
  • Schedule: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, for 13 weeks. Every other weekend and holidays are required. No on-call duties.
  • Required Qualifications: - ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) or higher degree. - Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. - New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license. - BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA (American Heart Association). - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification. - EPIC experience preferred. - Advanced AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification or Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM).
  • Preferred Qualifications: - BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
  • Additional Information: - Shift hours are 12 hours per shift. - Minimum of 36 hours per week. - Start date is August 3, 2026.
