Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Yakima, Washington. This healthcare provider role involves delivering high-quality emergency care in a Level III trauma center environment. The position requires managing a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, with duties including triage, medication administration, trauma response, and patient stabilization. The ER operates in a busy, fast-paced setting with a focus on high acuity patient care.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Day shifts, offering 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC certifications; minimum of 3 years experience in a large volume emergency department with high acuity patients; proficiency in barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage (passing hospital triage test required), presence of pediatric emergency medicine experience preferred; ability to set up chest tubes, arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, bipap/ventilators, and good understanding of ESI. Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus.
  • Patient Types: Neonate to geriatric; including stroke (administration of TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health, substance use disorder, and complex trauma cases.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3-5 based on acuity; ER set up in zones, including a fast track unit with 13 beds.
  • EMR System: Epic (mandatory).
  • Float: No floating required.
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend, with flexibility to work back-to-back weekends occasionally.
