Job Summary:
This step down unit nurse position is located in Quincy, Illinois. The role involves working on a 24-bed unit with a patient population that includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavior patients requiring IV drip medications. The position offers opportunities to work up to every other weekend, with a focus on high-throughput patient care in an acute care setting.

Job Details:

• Position Description: Unit notes indicate a 24-bed unit with a patient ratio of approximately 1:3/4 depending on acuity. Medications administered include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, Nicardine.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active ACLS, BLS Certifications, and NIHSS certification; at least 2 years of experience in a similar setting; Illinois nursing license required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a step down unit; familiarity with EPIC charting system.
• Additional Information: The unit is supported by an educator who works closely with staff. The facility operates with a trauma level 2 designation and provides acute care services.
