Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Nurse position is located in Springfield, Illinois. This assignment involves working in a Level I trauma center, providing specialized surgical nursing care in a busy acute care hospital setting. The role offers an opportunity to work with various service lines, excluding cardiovascular procedures, and includes a flexible start date with a duration of 13 to 26 weeks, based on the traveler's preference.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: 2.0 years' clinical experience in operating room nursing, active Illinois nursing license (or in application process), BLS certification; CNOR preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications: Cerner charting experience, Level I trauma experience, familiarity with bariatric, general, neuro, orthopedic, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, trauma, and emergency management procedures and skills
  • On-Call Requirement: Yes, approximately 1 per week, though frequency may vary
  • Float: Rarely required within scope of skill set
  • Open to accommodating block schedule: No
  • Location acceptance: Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted
  • Certifications: BLS required; additional advanced certifications preferred
  • Special Requirements: Experience with laparoscopic assisted cases, trauma scenarios, and specialized surgical procedures indicated in job description
  • Other Notes: Successful candidates will need active Illinois license, SSN and DOB at submission, and availability for virtual orientation on start day
