Description

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in Dallas, Texas. This role involves providing patient care in a 24-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3. The position requires working the night shift and participating in a four-week schedule with weekends and on-call shifts. The qualified candidate will be responsible for managing cardiac drips, performing bedside procedures, and collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team.

Job Details:

Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/18/2026
Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); relevant experience including accountability for actions and cardiac drips knowledge (Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Cardizam); minimum of 6 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit; valid nursing license in Texas and ability to work in Dallas, TX
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication skills between patients and the interdisciplinary team; six months of experience in a Progressive Care Unit; familiarity with equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom, telemetered monitoring, and Meditech electronic medical records
Additional Information: The unit cares for patients post-Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), aortic valve replacements, post-vascular surgeries, and those undergoing catheterization or electrophysiology procedures. Candidates should demonstrate caring and team-oriented personalities to thrive in this environment.
