Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Redwood City, California. This role involves providing care to obstetric patients in a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with a focus on high-quality maternal and fetal monitoring. The position supports a higher socioeconomic patient demographic with a median maternal age of 37, and includes responsibilities related to labor, delivery, and postpartum care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with an average of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: California licensure as a Registered Nurse, ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery Nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner PowerChart maternity systems and fetal monitoring.
• Schedule: Night shifts, starting on 08/17/2026, with every other weekend (Friday/Saturday nights, Saturday/Sunday days) and holiday rotation.
• Float: Float rotation to postpartum in rotation with permanent staff.
• Additional Information: Unit features new LDRP rooms and older postpartum rooms, lactation nurses present during the day, and a patient population with higher Mandarin-speaking volume utilizing translation services. The unit is not locked but uses infant security systems. The hospitalist or intensivist teams provide anesthesia 24/7, with options for low-census staff to be on call in 4-hour increments. The Cerner charting system is in use, and no trauma level designation is specified. The role does not require a BSN but requires submission of a license.
