Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room Technician in Portland, Maine. This role involves providing specialized surgical support within a busy operating room environment, focusing on trauma cases with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. The position emphasizes teamwork, self-motivation, and the ability to perform effectively under high-stress situations.

Job Details:

Schedule: Evening shift from 11:00 PM to 11:00 PM CST, with weekly guaranteed hours of 36, including 12-hour shifts and 1:4 weekends. The shift may include one overnight call from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM for trauma call, scheduled per specialty team rules.
Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, minimum of two years of trauma experience, Maine licensing or eligibility, and at least one year of travel or relevant OR experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with general, urology/gynecology, orthopedic trauma, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, plastics, dental, or endovascular procedures.
Position Responsibilities: Supporting surgical teams in the operating room, setting up surgical instruments, maintaining sterile procedures, and assisting with trauma procedures.
Unit Information: Large operating room with 26 beds, patient ratios of 1:1, utilizing equipment such as Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive robotic systems. EMR system in use is Epic.
Personality Fit: Flexible, accountable, timely, team player.
Dress Code: Scrubs (Teal issued from the hospital).
Additional Information: This position is a replacement for a perm staff member who was terminated on 06/17.
